Question: Can reflexology or acupuncture help tinnitus?my son suffers from tinnitus. he always has loud music playing to drown out the ringing. i know it gets him down. would alternative medicine help
Answer: Can't comment on (reflexology or acupuncture as they're not my field - although if it is the right therapy for you, you would see nice results) but in the last couple of years, I've treated 10 long-standing cases of tinnitus with Homoeopathy. 6 have no symptoms at all now. 2 others have improved somewhat & the other 2 only noticed minimal improvements. It is a difficult one but as with all things, it's about getting to the cause of the symptom rather than the symptom itself. Other tips I give are take zinc in a multivitamin as lack of zinc is associated with tinnitus. Vitamin B12 helps noise-induced tinnitus (take in a B complex). Ginkgo Biloba increases circulation to the ear so might help.Check your teeth - impacted wisdom teeth and tooth decay can both be behind this problem. Cranial osteopathy can release tensions in the neck & head which can trigger tinnitus. Hope this helps
