American Tinnitus Association

Question: In the March 2000 issue of Tinnitus Today, the quarterly journal of the American Tinnitus Association, there is an application to fill out - a "Call for Committee Volunteers." There are spots available on the Human Resources Committee, the Business Committee, the Program Committee, and the Resource & Development Committee. Additionally, I believe there will soon be an Advocacy & Legal Committee.

Please consider expressing your support of the ATA - not only with your dollars, but also with your time and talents. Please fill out the form and send it in to the ATA.

It is my hope that if we all marshall our efforts, that eventually there will be no need for an ATA ... and no need for an support.tinnitus website! Help make it happen.

Answer: Yes, it is nice to see all the hard work and the new changes being brought about at the ATA. The director, Steve Laubacher, has worked hard to bring in new people and ideas to help add to the very fine organization that is already in place....you can see that I am quite fond of the ATA...enjoy many pleasant interactions with the various departments and hand out their brochures to all who visit my clinic---of course now they also receive a brochure from the new American Hyperacusis Association, a sister organization!

Yes, indeed, it is comforting to know that good people like Mr. Laubaucher are out there working overtime on behalf of all people who suffer from tinnitus. The ATA, in its 29th year, deserves a round of applause from our silent internet hands! ANd of course, our help in these various committees who need new input from folks just like all of you!
