Tinnitus Help?

Question: My brother has just got tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears). Because I am going on holiday in two hours and do not have time to look it up, does anyone else suffer from it, and how do they get around it. His doctor told him that there is not a cure, but it is driving him crazy. Any help would be gratefully excepted.

Answer: I have dealt with tinnitus for many years. There is no cure for it. What I did was simply learn to ignore it. It drove me nuts until I was able to do that. Now, I can only hear it if I listen for it. Background noise sometimes helps. I got into the habit of usually having something on...a TV, a radio...at low volume. It distracted me and one day I simply realized that the tinnitus no longer bothered me.

I feel for him. It's really annoying but hopefully over time, he will get used to it and it won't bother him so much. I know that doesn't really help but unfortunately, it's all he can really do.

Tinnitus is due to Ear diseases, due to auditory nerve damage, affection of Pons in the brain, Temporal lobe epilepsy or may be due to general diseases. Treat the cause . Consult the doctor and undergo investigations
