Question: My left ear has a faint ringing in it sometimes, and my hearing is a bit muffled when it's ringing. Should I be concerned?
Answer: it can be caused by lots of things... from stress, to allergy, to infection... generally resulting in middle ear problems which cause the ringing. If it is persistent, see a specialist... it's called Tinnitus, and you can search for sources on the web. Try Vitamin B 12 and folic acid combination. It will take a few weeks to see results. Sound masking will also help if you are bothered by it during the night. Try a sound machine or low volume TV/radio.
