What can cause tinnitus in young children?

Question: I've had what I now recognise to be very mild tinnitus for as long as I can remember, at least since the age of 6. It's never been a problem and until I started reading about it I wrote it off as normal. But now I'm wondering where it could have come from. I can't recall ever being exposed to extreme noise levels. Could it have just come from normal background noise?

Answer: It could caused be an ear infection, teething, getting water in their ears or unknown. It's usually not serious if they aren't having any other symptoms and usually clears on it's on.

I have severe tinnitus ..I can mask it during the day but nights are pretty bad. Apparently it can be caused by repeated ear infections a knock to the head and maybe even swimming. i don't think there is any real evidence though..
