I found that a lot of sites dance around actual "treatments" basically you need to have a multi vitamin that is high in magnesium and listen to Pink noise - not white noise but pink noise through head phones not ear buds. Pink noise has some lower tones filtered in or out - I cannot remember. This also helps manage the tinnitus. I have had mine for over six months now. It is at a dull roar with these things.
